skills idea (mine, uses grendels cave outline though)
when you choose a class, you first choose what race your father was and what race your mother was, the choices would be:
human
elf
demon
golem
fairy
dwarf
your skills and stats would be detirmined by what you choose. Your father would decide your stats and your mother would decide your skills. Here's a very basic outline of the bonuses, disadvantages are yet to be decided.
Skills bonuses:
human-thieving, bonus to hp
elf-different archery moves, and extra running speed
demon-only class that can cast the strongest black magic
golem-can use moves that raise it's defense greatly
fairy-only class that can cast strongest white magic
dwarf-only class that can smith
stat bonuses:
human-skills rounded out
elf-good at dodging, others yet to be decided
demon-good slashing, energy is high
golem-endurance is high, bludg gains small bonus
fairy-undecided
dwarf-best endurance, good haggling, more is undecided
Most of the bonuses are undecided, but you should get a good idea of it. The skill system is similar to the current one, but some useless skills are removed (neutral casting is moved to defensive casting, hiding and healing skill (not defensive casting) removed, others probably removed.
