ive been playing in many trpg servers, and i keep gettin the damn annoying crash to desktop bug

it happens like every couple min anymore and i cant really play

it also happens to other peeps

the bug just started for me since the last big release

I'm not sure if this will help, but try updating your videa drivers. Then also try changing your screen size. If you are in 640x480 it tends to crash more, or so I have noticed.

ive been running it at 1024, then i switched to 640, did the same crap

i have voodoo 3 so i cant update the drivers...

but thanks for the advice

Ok I know what the bug is caused by.

It is caused by someone on the server falling and dying. It only happens on servers with a good number of people on them at the time.

If you want to avoid this crash put your luck on miss so you wont die in a fall. And another note: The server doesn't crash when this happens rather the server crashes all the clients. It may be a client script conflict as you noted.

Trident, it can also happen when an admin spawns many objects.
I Spawned like 100 objects on a server, it was only me and got killed by a guy in a quest i was making (i was jokeing around) and the server crashed.

If you have the deus thing it might be that you for example use the a-key to move left (used for autofire with script).

This might sound stupid but i had the same problem, crashed after a minute or two, and reasigni the keys in the game worked.

TRPG conflicts with a script I use frequently, it's a CD Player script. The script isn't the best, but hey, it works. If you leave a CD in the drive and then quit without stopping the CD Player, then start up Tribes again and join any game, it'll crash. So if you use that script, there's soemthing you mgiht want to know. Just stick the CD back in and stop it next time before quitting. As far as TRPG goes, it just plain hates the script. If you leave it on, even with the CD in, it'll cause TRPG to crash. So don't use CD Player scripts with TRPG. Woo.
