i feel like a damn newbie asking about this but but but...i can t connect to either official beta or NQ ive tried connecting after a clean install of both update 4 and update 5. (in fact my whole tribes was jsut reinstalled for an unrelated problem)

re-install the base beta and then update #5

tried that, it is missing skel.dts
so i put in the other updates, and i rpgbutch

delete RPG folder. install base beta and update #1 - 5.....

deleted rpg folder, base install then all updates in order. still rpgbutch errorrering.

ok i just re-downloaded everythin three times and installed it in order. same error. is there any chance NQ is running version 4?

Everyone else is having rpgbutch errors..

I believe that rpgbutch is the grid file for the map..

Therefore I assume that you edit it while changing the map in map editor..

Well, the other day I was making my rpgmap6 and under Landscape it says that the map uses rpgbutch5.

I couldn't change it, cause when I tried to make rpgbutch6 and hit apply the editor crashed.

Well, my cat jumped on the computer mouse (ironic eh?) and started messing up the map..

Then the cat managed to maneuver the mouse and hit save..

I tried to get into a server, and no errors, no anything..

When I go into rpgmap5 in editor, it has the changes my cat made, but I still can connect to servers..

Hmm..

Not Everyone ~SadFriend~

Not EVERYONE is having this problem but I suspect only a select few.

Here are the rules of engagement:
1. Make sure that Tribes (base) is ver 1.11
(http://sierrastudios.com/games/trib...nloads.html#111)
2. Make sure that you TRASH or RENAME/REMOVE the old RPG folder and all it's files.
3. Create a new RPG folder in your Tribes directory.
4. Install the brpgmod.exe file:

5. Install bupdate1.zip:
http://www.tribalwar.com/rpg/ji/beta/bupdate1.zip
6. Install bupdate2.zip:
http://www.tribalwar.com/rpg/ji/beta/bupdate2.zip
7. Install bupdate3.zip:
http://www.tribalwar.com/rpg/ji/beta/bupdate3.zip
8. Install bupdate4.zip:
http://www.tribalwar.com/rpg/ji/beta/bupdate4.zip
9. Install bupdate5.zip:
http://www.tribalwar.com/rpg/ji/beta/bupdate5.zip
10. Make sure that if you are running a firewall, you have it on low or medium depending on which firewall it is.

NeverQuest is running update5 and is version 4.713
6 people are on currently with no problems.

This protocol should work for everyone.

My FireWall (Zone Alarm) is set at high. Is that maybe why I time out sometimes on your server? Or is it just my gay cable?(only good for d/l)

zelgadis, make sure to check the version.cs in your RPG folder and counter-check with the server you're joining
