I've downloaded the full download and the available updates.

Whenever I try to connect to a game, it says "Get ready to rock 'n roll", then loads for awhile, then takes me back to the mission screen saying the Connection Timed Out.

Any help?

I've tried hosting a game (I did all the instructions in the "Need help making a server" thread).

The MS-Dos thing shows, and repeats:

MSG: "Server: Player \"Arena Gladiator1\" added - id = 20##

Twice, then says:

Game: kill 20## 20##

Where the ## is 49, 50, 51, or 52 respectively.


Any help?

I can't even connect to my own server (titled "The Chaos Island").

How do you fix this?



(A solution I might want to try is to have someone copy, and zip up their tribes rpg folder and put it somewhere on the net for awhile so we can take it and see if it will work.)

Set graphics to low use ,software mode ,close all programs while running tribes, if u timeout restart your computer.

I've done that, and I'm still getting:

Connection Timed Out

I've even restarted my computer.
I have it on Low Detail.
I have all the things that can say Software at Software.

I still don't know what is going on.

Tribes will either time out or stop responding.

What are the specs on your computer?

The most I know (this isn't my computer entirely) is:

533 MHZ Celeron Processor
64 Ram
11 MB for video memory

And its a Hewlett Packard, so I'm not sure on any cards.

Hmm, but you can get into regular tribes servers fine, right?

What server(s) have you tried?

I've tried the one I temporarely made, an Azeroth one, some that said skins were not updated, and a few others.

If you have a filter that says the mission type must have RPG in it, I've probably tried every one that isn't locked and has the speed green or yellow (at one point).

I can host, and play, under the Tribes RPG, but only under version 4.751 (it kinda lags).

Any reasoning on how to get 4.94 to work?

All I can do right now is host games (which isn't all that bad).

The game I host is called The Chaos Island (I've seen people "join", but they left, one guy I actually saw).

So, if anyone wants to play, if they can, try coming to that server.

After redownloading the rpg mod (I can't reinstall Tribes because I don't have the cd, and I don't have money), I still can't enter games, but I can host them.

Try these

Try connecting with the server that has the best ping, make sure you have the latest version and that the server is running that version.

Try adjusting your video options.

If you time out once, restart tribes. There is a mystery glitch that sometimes causes the music to keep you from fully connecting.

Try editing your sound options until you're connected, if you can.

Try different servers.

Use a simple one word name that's likely not been taken for the first time you connect.

At least have a 56k modem, but dsl/cable is better.

Remember that the mod is massive and that not all servers will be running the same version configurations, if you have a problem with a specific server just start on a new one.
