i was wondering if anyone here knows how to make zones i cant find out how???

I'll start from the biggining for those who are new to the editor.
1.while in game start the editor by pressing ~ and typing exec(editor);
2.Press F2 and scroll intell u find the group name ZONES.
3.Open and press F3 under Missions click add Group(this is if u want to make a new zone)and name it to one of four Zone type's.
1.PROTECTED-like K-town cant hurt nobady.
2.DUNGEON-like K-mine,Yolanda,and so on.
3.WATER-well you know.
4.FREEFORALL-Remember the old Fight club...
4.Now you need to name that zone it will look like this..
1245:Zones-SimGroup
+-1235:PROTECTED Keldrin City-simgroup
5.Now you need to set how big the zone will be....
1.Highlight your new Zone u just made and hit F3 and under mission add a marker.
2.Open your zone and highlight the marker you just added and hit F2 and erase where is say marker this is where you will set the zone size.There are four #'s that define the size here they are and what they define.
1.Length
2.Width
3.Hieght
4.SHeight-I leave this at Zero becouse im not sure what it defines.
After you set your #'s hit apply and i suggest you save..alote...now hit F5 to go in game run around where you spawned your marker you might find u have to go back into editor to tweak the #' alittle to get your zone right.To get back in to editor hit ~ and type memode();
6.Your Zone should look like this in editor...
1245:Zones-SimGroup
+-1235:PROTECTED Keldrin City-simgroup
+-1236:100 100 80 0 - Marker
7. Now to add your sounds and music this is simple...Highlight your zone hit F3 and under mission add a group and back to F2.Rename this group as 1 of 4
diffrent types of sound a zone can have..
1.MUSIC NAME.wav 40 - Simgroup -This is the music your Zone will play the (40) stands for the # of secounds it will play before it reset it
!Warning!-I wanted to add ACDC-Paradice city to a zone and it was 405 secounds long.it ended up freezing my pc and crashing so i recomend you keep it to a max of 60 to be safe.
2.ENTERSOUND Name.wav -the sound it will play when you enter.
3.AMBIENTSOUND Name.wav -The zone will play this sound off and on at random like a bird churping or whatever...
4.EXITSOUND Name.wav -The sound the zone will play as you leave it.
So after u have added your sound's your zone in editor should look somthing like this...
1245:Zones-SimGroup
+-1246:PROTECTED Keldrin City-simgroup
+-1247:100 100 80 0 - Marker
+-1248:MUSIC KeldrinTown.wav 55 - SimGroup
+-1249:ENTERSOUND area_plains.wav - SimGroup
+-1250:AMBIENTSOUND AmbDay2.wav - Simgroup
If u would like to add costom sounds to your zone it will have to be in .wav format if you need a to convert your mp3 so you can use it in tribes.Use the program I use at www.mp3towave.com its pretty fast and free.

Thx for reminding me u need to move your Rpg maps from Tribes/Rpg/missions to Tribes/Base/Missions otherwise it wont let u save.
And yea after u save its there for good unless u delete it.
to delete a object in the editor highlight and press Ctrl+Delete
To do it in wordpad go to where u have your missions and select the .mis file of whatever mission u want to edit and open it with the wordpad.It's just like looking at the Editor in game....i would go into it more but im tired and dont feel like it :-)

depends u want to use existing bot's/race's or are u planning to make a new race and or new bot?

so after i do the zoning i put them bacvk in rpg/missions ???

If u want It dosent hurt to keep it there...I keep all maps in base so if i need to do some quick editing i dont have to tranfer maps here and there....
Do u have ICQ so i can send u what u need and tell u how to add bot's to a map...

So to make a new uber called Phantom u would edit in......
$NameForRace[Phantom] = "Uber";
$spawnIndex[54] = "Phantom";
$BotEquipment[Phantom] = "CLASS Paladin LVL 800/50 COINS 135/50 LCK 4 CastingBlade 1 DragonScale 1/-300 Emerald 1/-1000";
Now go into game and hit ~ exec(editor);
find the group called SpawnPoints-SimGroup and open it.
now im alittle confused on the marker but i'll explain the best i can.
highlight the group SpawnPoint and hit F3 under mission add a marker where u want the bot to spawn.Now hit F2 and and now to set where and when your bot will spawn
There are 7 #'s that define this...
1.just set it too .5 intell i figure out what it does lol
2.1-just leave it at that
3.2-leave it the same also
4.ok this is the bots Max radius it can detect a player,So if the bot is set to 100 then i can track 100 Meters.
5.#-will stand for the bots Min delay i guess this is how long he stands there but not needed.
6.#-stands for the bot's Max delay...and how long he will stand there lol
7.this is the Spawn indexe this # stands for the bots I.D.#($spawnIndex[54] = "Phantom"So if u want the Phantom to spawn there it would be # 54
There marker should look somthing like this
instant Marker ".5 1 2 50 70 54"

john, if I use the editor to make a few changes to my server's map, can others still play it as long as I use existing dises and music?
