Server help please..

I run Grd3Smokin' server and i want to put back in all the weapons that were removed..

like the flail and the morningstar..

I gotta hold of WINVOL after reading some other posts .. but i dont know how to USE IT??

There are no readme files and when i Initialize it, it says just highlight entries in a vol file and Right click to xtract..

and then of course a .CS file appears in the folder..

What do i do next??(DUHH still learnin)

do i edit each manually? (GEEZ i hope not)??

or is there a insert wep .cs update?? or what>>?

Please help me or atleast guide me towardz help.. thats understandable..

Id really like these wepz on my server and I think most of the server players would tooo..

I just want to Know how and where to get the weps info and how to put it in the server..

Winvol only extracts files. If you want to put them back in you will have to use a program like vt.exe or contact me or someone else to do the packing for you.

To use Winvol.
Find the directory with the scripts.vol you want to modify(in your case RPG folder under tribes)
Click on Scripts.vol
Click on the first one in the list hold SHIFT and click the last.
Right click in the highlighted area. Then click EXTRACT. Before you extract make sure you have a folder with a name like extractTemp.
Extract to that folder.
Open the .cs files of your choosing and edit them.
Repack the .vol with edited files

Reason being for the folder is not to mix up those files with anything else. They can end up executing in the server if you put them in the wrong folder. Some files when executed after the scripts.vol is executed actually cause an infinite loop.

can you send me the vt.exe ??

or do you already have and updated weapons.cs file??
(i'd like to have all the weps like B&N"s server.. with ironsmight, titanium hammer and so fourth..)

I really wanna learn to do this my self..

so i gotta manualy add each line in for each section of the weapons info and then re-pak the file hmm..
sounds like a drag..

Oh well gotta do what i gotta do.. lol

Well

If simply havin all the weapons back is being like B&N.. Then Yes..

But there are other differences.. Like the prices at B&N's and the Pre log in screen...

I just dont like havein to use a Mace or Hammerpick till im a lvl 90..

It sux.. there are no flails or morningstars.. THERE SHOULD BE..

And I think its terrible that they got left out just because someone was too dang lazy to craft the weps images for them..

Thats why a flail still looks like a sword on B&N's.


It's awefull that there are no medium grade weps to use.. and yes ill put the titanium hammer in too if i get that far.. lol


BTW I like B&N's server, its the only one I play on besides mine..

Ok stella... I might not be able to get all the weaps from B&N but I could code some good weaps for you...

BTW, I think I fixed the Hell quest but I need to test it out still...

Give me your ICQ # or get mine from my profile so I can talk to you... if all this stuff gets working I'll prolly start playing again.
