OOC: I hope this isn't too cliche. Need feedback, and will remove if not ok:
------------

Ileni noticed young Foxhead run up with a new battle axe, grinning ear to ear. He looked as excited as a boy on his first feast day. First H’Dero, then Silver, now Foxhead. Men! She stomped back to Old Freidric. His color looked better and she could see he was reviving. His eyes opened and he simply looked at her. “Sit, I need to tell you, now…” he trailed off momentarily, eyes looking blankly towards the battle as if looking into the past. Ileni waited, knowing it was important for him to take time here and now, in the midst of this war.

Finally, he began, “Your grandmother left you in my care to protect you, you know. Your parents were such powerful wizards, the dark magic did them in.” He waved his hands in the air, “No, no, don’t look at me like that, they weren’t BAD. It was what others wanted from them, the power they had, that finally killed them. Your grandmother saw in you the same potential. She wanted you kept safe and to learn the healing arts, the other side of magic. Even as a child, you could perform the dark arts in your sleep.” He chuckled again. “How many times did we run into your room, in the midst of the night to find you screaming, with your curtains afire! Your room a shambles, and things flying around.” He shook his head in memory. “We all finally managed to sleep once your nightmares started fading.” His smile slipped away and he looked at her intently. “We gave you all we could, child. Cared for you, trained you, shared our values. Underneath all that, even though you think we don’t see, is the anger and fear you still have.” He leaned forward now, and put a hand on her shoulder. “The others, they are afraid of dark magic, of what it can do. I..” he fingered his own white beard, "I understand it. And I understand that your natural abilities are reasserting themselves in this time of need. USE THEM!” Her mouth dropped open. “Yes! Use them. You have enough years and practice in the healing arts to be able to do something unique: both. You can achieve balance. It may be a struggle at times, but I’ve seen your determination. You can combine the healing arts with your innate magic and use both for good advantage. Use it for goodness!" His eyes blurred with tears. "Especially now," he continued. The Fellowship needs it.” He lay back spent. Ileni seethed with questions, but looking at him, she realized now was not the time to ask them. “You have questions, I can see it in your eyes, “ he smiled. “TIMAC!” The younger healer scurried over at Freidric’s bellow. Old Freidric pointed at his saddlebag and told Timac to fetch the package within it. When he returned, with another dark look at Ileni, Old Freidric waved him off and carefully unwrapped the package. Within the oilskin wrapping, was an old, leather-covered book. Ileni gasped. The design carved into the front piece was the same as the amulet that haunted her dreams. “Yes, you recognize this…good. Your grandmother gave it to me on the day you arrived at the monastery. It belonged to your mother. It is her journal. It contains her thoughts and records some of the events in her life, including spells she learned. Answers to some of your questions are in here. The rest you must find for yourself. May The Three forgive me and speed you on your way.” And he handed the small book into Ileni’s quivering hands.

Meanwhile, with SoK

Silver sliced the head off another beast. It wasn't a goblin, nor an orc, nor even a gnoll. Silver had know idea what it was. All he knew was that it tried to hit him with a hammer, and that kinda made Joseph angry.

After killing the beast, he began swinging his sword around. A moment later, 3 goblins fell dead to the ground. Standing behind them was the current leader of the Keldrin Army and brother of the slain Marius Caspian. Silver took a knee in the middle of battle to honor the thought of Marius, and Taro told him to stand.

"Your Quest is in the mine, is it not?"

"Yes it is sir."

Taro laughed, "Joseph, we are equal. No need to call me sir."

Silver smiled and replied "In that case, what is it you want Toro?"

"Your Quest is in the mines. We plan to get you there. My Army will form a protective shield around your group until you reach the entrance. Go tell the others."

With that, Taro mounted a horse and shouted "Army of Keldrin! To the fellowship! Protect them with your LIVES!"

A cheer rose up from the army, as some ceased battle and ran to the group. Most remained, fighting the hordes of beasts.

Silver arrived in behind Illeni, who had just been handed an old book by Old Freidric. Silver took note of this but yelled

"Illeni! Wheres H'Dero?!"

Illeni rolled her eyes and pointed towards a pile of dead goblins. H'Dero was on the other side, slashing at an orc. Silver turned back to Illeni and said

"The Army is going to escort us into the mines. Prepare your things and the group. I will go get H'Dero."

With that, Silver sprinted down the hill towards H'Dero.

Slash!

"Watch it H'Dero! Its only me!"

"Get away Silvran! I must kill these myself!"

"We are going into the mines"

A noticable grin appeared on H'Dero's face. He slashed a goblin and turned to Silvran.

"I will lead."

"The Keldrin Army is going to protect us."

"By Phens Robe they are MY mines, and I will lead!"

"Then get ready, the army is already forming a circle around the group."

Silver ran back up to the group, and stood at the front with the soldiers. Taro shouted, "TO THE MINES!" and with a cheer the Quest for the Stone of Carkor continued....

Back 2 Matt

"TO THE MINES!"

A cheer rang up as the army of keldrin formed a circle around the paladin, whom had been called "Silvran," the H'Dero, the singing woman, Ileni, the speechless man, and a mound of goblins. H'Dero, of course, standing by the pile. Heh. That's the blacksmith! One of the army's footmen, wearing a breastplate and holding an awl pike, came up to Matthew. "Better get a move on, kid! Get into that mine!" I guess I'm coming too then! After chopping yet another goblin in half, Matthew shouted back, "On my way," and dashed off towards Silvran and the blacksmith.

"TO THE MINES!" rang through the air. Cheers like it was celebration of Feast Day! Ileni thought grimly. She had bade a hurried goodbye to Old Freidric, wondering again, if it was the last she'd see of him. His eyes looked both worried and sad as she left. The rest of the group seemed to be in euphoric spirits, though. What IS it about battle that does that to a man? she wondered not for the first time. The small book nestled in her hand. She didn't feel like cheering. She didn't feel much of anything, except maybe overwhelming curiosity. She wanted nothing more than to be back in the quiet convent garden so she could pour over this book to her heart's content. With another sigh and all the years of her training, Ileni patted the cover, then firmly tucked it into the special pouch she wore at her waist, hidden in the folds of her gray robe. To the quest! She faced the mine, her face set in her customary peaceful expression. Oh what the Phen! "TO THE QUEST!" She yelled aloud, startling her fellow travellers. Heh! That felt... quite.... liberating! She grinned over at Saere.

"TO THE MINES!" somebody shouted. "TO THE QUEST!". Cheering filled the air. H'Dero wasn't thinking. His adrenaline surge was far from depletion. He dropped his crazed expression when he realized there were no more goblins around him.

The army had formed a protective circle around the Quest-takers. Silvran and the thief boy came sprinting down the hill next to him. Saere, Ewyn, and the healers tagged slowly behind them.

"H'Dero!" shouted Silvran "Into the mines, let's go!"

H'Dero nodded firmly. "To the mines." he said softly. He wiped his sweat-covered brow as the rest of the Quest group arrived.

"I want all of you to follow me." he stated, frowning and holding his blood-covered fist up. "We can't lose anyone in there. If you go missing ALL IS LOST. So stay close. If there is a most important moment in our lives, this is it."

H'Dero closed his eyes and did something he never thought he would ever do. He wished a silent prayer to Phen. Phen help us in our moment of greatest need.

He opened his eyes, nodded firmly again, and continued the most consequential day in his life.

NPC: Sklanmurkd, the slimeeey one

Deep in the mines, Sklanmurkd watched from behind a pillar as the Orc Boss ranted and raved and pounded his throne with large green fists. A few more roars brought loose rock tumbling across the throne room floor. “Sskslsksurk!” he hissed under his breath. Orc Boss too mad. Mine will fall. Orc Boss not leader. No power. The little goblin tried to calculate how much longer the Orc Boss would be in charge. Already a wounded goblin, trailing slime behind him, stumbled in at great risk to himself and announced that tall-people were coming into the entrance. Sklanmurkd snorted with disdain as the Orc Boss hurled the goblin aside and put him out his misery, permanently. Sklanmurkd go. Not stay here now. Have plan. Good plan! And he rubbed his pointy hands in glee. With a last glance behind him at the throne room and the enraged Orc, he fled down the tunnels on silent feet. Find secret place. Sklanmurkd know. Goblins not know. All dead. And he laughed in remembrance of those he had killed for knowledge. Wispy sounds from his laughter floated back down the dark tunnel towards the throne room, echoing eerily in the dark.

"I want all of you to follow me." H’Dero stated, frowning and holding his blood-covered fist up. "We can't lose anyone in there. If you go missing ALL IS LOST. So stay close. If there is a most important moment in our lives, this is it."

Ileni picked up on some of his tension. She had watched the blacksmith enough to understand the various forms of his frowns. The boy-at-play quality from the earlier battle was gone, replaced with something that seemed to boarder on….she couldn’t put her finger on it. Her lighthearted mood evaporated slightly.

Beside her Saere still seemed to be in high spirits. Matthew Foxhead’s face bobbed into view. He looks happy with himself… she noted. And the Esquire had his scroll clenched tightly in his hand again. Silver, looking better than she’d seen him in days, had his sword out and was obviously ready to surge forward. I wonder what the scroll says about the number in our party now? she wondered briefly.

As if in silent response, she saw Ewyn consult his scroll.

A wickedly funny thought suddenly bubbled up inside her. I wonder if The Three are laughing at us! Is this the best They can do for Their Quest to end all Quests? A half-crazed blacksmith, an old maid, a singing child who laughs at the drop of a snood, a thief still in short-breeches, a suicidal silver-man and a mute who can’t move two feet without reading what to do. The more she thought about it, the sillier it sounded. She started laughing. Softly at first, and then breaking out into deep chuckles until tears ran down her face. “I’m…sorry…” she tried to gasp. And the more everyone stared at her, the harder she laughed. Then Saere started laughing and that made her laugh harder, until she had to lean on Saere’s shoulder like a drunken warrior. “Oh…oh…” the stern looks set her off again. She tried to clear her throat and stand up straight. “I’m…ok…now…” she mustered her best Brother Antonio the Stern look. “Ok..sorry…you were saying?” she looked at H’Dero and sniffed then hiccupped.

Saere chuckled as the little outburst ended, and she muffled it down into throaty giggles. The Quest gained the entrance to the mines, and the Fellowship stepped up to it.

Just then, the area around the entrance cracked and burst outwards. H'Dero was knocked back by a rock-boulder, his enormous size tumbling down the short hill. Ewyn dodged out of the way, but a fair sized rock clipped his sword-hand, possibly bruising the bone. Saere screeched and yanked Ileni out of the way as the entire entrance toppled around them.

A huge head and a leering face poked out of the hole. Black, scaly skin and a obese body followed it out. It carried a club with spikes sticking out the upper section.

'Cave troll. Cave troll! CAVE TROLL!'

Cave trolls were known for enormous size and a ferocious manner. And this one was HUMONGOUS!

Ileni felt her arm yank back as Saere pulled her out the way. They both went flying backward and landed hard. "Whooof!" The air was knocked out of her. The blacksmith had gone tumbling down the hill. Ewyn scattered left, holding his arm. Saere looked dazed. Where was Silver? And ...PHEN'S HOLY STAFF...that thing is HUGE!!!! Ileni had never seen one before...whatever it was...

"CAVE TROLL!" somebody yelled.

She sat there half stunned. No. NO! Gotta move. Move now. "MOVE!" she yelled at Saere and they both scrambled as fast as they could....

"CAVE TROLL!"

An enormous black scaly creature emerged from the entrance to the mine, knocking over boulders as he charged.

It looked about 12 feet tall.

Its black skin made it look like it had been through the land of the dead, and back.

Its heavily muscled stomach made it look stronger than any ogre could ever hope to be.

Well, I've seen everything else today! Let's get this over with-- That club looks expensive!

The troll, covered in dark slimy ooze, marched forward, and roared.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
RRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"I've heard orcs roar better than you," Matthew said, with his best grin plastered on.

Completely fearlessly, after seeing the troll knock H'Dero back a few yards, Matthew leapt towards the ugly monster. Gripping his Battle Axe like a spear, Matthew attempted to drive it straight into the monsters chest.

Of course, he missed.

The axe landed between the trolls legs. The axe tilted straight up very quickly, right as the troll swung it's club. The axe's blade was a foot down into the ground, while the six-foot pole had slammed right between the gnoll's two hips.

Matthew slammed into the troll's chest.

Ouch.

With a moan, Matthew let go of the axe. Just then, the club swung around, almost hitting Matthew, but hitting the pole of the axe instead. Instantly, the metal staff shattered.

Not Good! NOT GOOD! VERY NOT GOOD!

Sliding down the pole, Matthew hit the hard earth between the troll's legs with a Thud.

The black monster decided to fall over.

"AAAAGHHH!!!!" was all Matthew could say as the troll narrowly missed his legs. Matthew croaked out, "I could use a little help here guys!"

Ileni and Saere scrambled, stumbled, and tumbled back down the hill after the blacksmith. They landed in a heap with an awkward "OOf!" Arms and legs akimbo. Up the hill, young Foxhead's idiocy of youth and bravado had him trying to battle The Thing. They were just untangling themselves and trying to stand when It roared:

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
RRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ileni and Saere were knocked back down again. I’ve got to get to H’Dero! She saw him struggling to rise, holding his head, blood pouring down one side of his face. Ileni fell to her hands and knees and crawled over to him. Thank The Three my pack is safe! She reached him and managed to push him back down to a sitting position, a true indication of just how dazed he was. Saere followed her over, and sat down, half-protectively, half-afraid. Ileni dug into her pack and handed her several vials. “Try and coax him to drink those, please!” Ileni said. She checked the blacksmith over and found two broken ribs and various bumps and bruises. Nothing worse than he’s had before…. her mouth twisted slightly in a depreciating grin. She placed her hands gently on his chest and willed healing energy to flow through her hands. She was just about done when she heard young Matthew yell.

"AAAAGHHH!!!! I could use a little help here guys!"

SoK's View

Silver rubbed his head and stood up. It seemed the mine entrance had collapsed or something. He looked up, and wished he had stayed on the ground. There was an enormous beast!! The young Foxhead tried to attack it, but only knocked it over. Joseph took this as his chance. He ran over to two dead goblins, took their weapons, and charged at the beast. It was laying on its back, struggling to get up. With a howl of insanity, Silver drove a dagger into each of the beast's eyes. This seemed to only anger the beast, as it got up, it began blindly swinging. it almost hit poor Matthew, who was still angered about losing his new battle axe.

"What in Phen's name is that...that THING?" yelled Silver to Foxhead.

"A Cave Troll." Was Foxhead's reply.

After replying, Foxhead pulled out a dagger and tried to stab the beast. This gave Silvran an idea. He ran up, timed it so he dove between the legs of the beast just after it swung its mighty club. He climbed up his back, and tried to stab it in the neck. The troll's skin was so tough that even Silver's rapier could not penetrate it. By now, the troll was shaking trying to get Silvran off his back. Silver hung on for his life. The beast got ahold of Silver, and swung him in front. He roared in Silver's face, and Joseph took this as his chance. He flung his rapier into the troll's mouth. The troll let go of Silver, and grabbed for its throat. It began coughing up a crimson river of blood, then fell over. It lay still.

Saere had managed to get the potions into H’Dero and was starting to mop up the blood on his face. He was looking better already; Ileni could see clarity returning to his eyes. Ileni quickly finished healing his ribs, and was about to wrap his chest, when she heard the thing roar again. She looked up just in time to see the thing swallow what looked like Silver’s sword! It grabbed its throat, flinging Silver high in the air. Silver went flying past them, and landed with a clanging thud. She watched helplessly as his head bounced against a rock. No! Not his head again! She was about to start in his direction when the Cave Troll spewed a torrent of blood from its throat, spraying everyone in the area, then toppled over, shaking the ground with a pounding sound. It reverberated around the valley. Rocks fell from the mine and tumbled down the hill, past them. She pushed Saere away from the biggest one, and saw her slide sideways, on loose rubble, down towards the crumpled paladin. Ileni rolled as quickly as she could, but her robe was pinned under a fallen boulder. She lost sight of the barely healed blacksmith. The thing on the ground roared again, sending more rubble down the hill. Ileni put up her hands to shield her head and prayed to The Three for quick and effective deliverance.

NPC: Horseman in the Keldrin Army

“Over there! Keep them penned in!” Clonis, second son and noble-born, wheeled his horse around and pointed his sword at the monsters breaking through the lines. “Fight men, fight!” He urged the valiant troops. Behind him, on the hill to the mine, a gigantic monster besieged the group from the monastery. Roars from the Cave Troll washed over the battle on the hill below and mixed with the chaotic sounds around him. The ground shook violently as the Cave Troll crashed to the ground with a tremendous bellow. Soldiers lost their footing and broke off fighting. Monsters rushed through the holes left by the tumbled ranks. His own horse fought for footing on the trembling earth, as he pointed again and yelled, “GOBLINS, AWAY!” Wheeling his horse around again one more time, he did not wait for the troops to respond. He spurred his mount to a thunderous ride across the valley towards the hill where a dozen quick-footed goblins were scrambling with red-slicked swords. As he approached, he heard a high-pitched scream echo around him. Rocks flew over his head. Half of the goblins had spotted an easy target and were heading in the direction of the songstress as she crouched by a fallen warrior. She had picked up lose stones and was hurling them in the direction of the approaching goblins. The rest of the goblins were rushing up the hill towards a woman in that appeared to be trapped by a boulder. He cursed. By Shatka’s maul, what do I do?

The Three are clearly laughing at me.Ileni thought with a disgusted frown. Running up the hill were half a dozen goblins, obviously intent on slaying off at least one more human: her. The other half dozen were heading towards Saere who screamed then started hurling rocks, haphazardly, in the goblin’s direction. A lone horseman, in gold-edged amour came racing up the hill on a gray horse. One of Keldrin’s finest, I presume? An apathetic, fatalistic quality seemed to have settled into her mind. Shrugging, she wondered which way the horseman would go. Probably towards the younger girl. That’s the way of life, it is, save the young. She broke off tugging on her robe, realizing the very coarseness of her garment lent the cloth extra strength. She would have to cut the garment. And healers, such as her, didn’t carry sharp weapons. Except my mind….. The goblins were halfway up the hill by now. She threw an extra shield over herself, tightened her grip on her staff and mentally reviewed her options. Using the staff to loosen the boulder was quickly eliminated. Using the staff to knock them down would only work if there were half as many goblins. That left perish or …. She grinned wryly. …Dark magic it is then… Her face set resolutely once more into familiar determination.

NPC: Cronis, the horseman.

Sword ready, advancing, he looked over towards the red-haired songstress. She’d actually managed to hit one or two goblins. They screamed gibberish at her but had momentarily stopped, reassessing their intended victim. He glanced towards the dark haired woman, obviously trapped by her own robe. The goblins were still streaming up the hill towards her when he saw an amber-tinged blue glow settle over her. A healer! He saw her swing a dark staff up and….By Shatka’s Blood, she GRINNED!! He veered his horse towards the younger girl and the goblins that seemed to be moving again. His last admiring glance over his shoulder at the healer took in her determined face and the sight of her fists raised over her head. "Hyah!" He galloped towards the screaming goblins, neatly slicing the head off one as he rode into their midst. The songstress was screaming again.

One part of Ileni’s mind noticed the horseman veer off towards Saere. As expected. It noted, dryly. She had to concentrate on knocking down these goblins, with whatever it took. Obviously, the gods have abandoned me. She felt anger boil up in her throat. She felt her arms swell and get tight and her hands suddenly curl into fists. Rage boiled in her mind now, blocking out thought. She threw her fists over her head and felt energy rush to them. Her back stiffened. Her legs planted into the ground, she felt her body begin to shudder. It felt like she was a board buckling in a strong wind. Energy wound up from her back, roared across her shoulders and neck and pounded down her arms. With a yell, she pitched her fists in front of her, mentally hurling the goblins to the bowels of the earth.

Two down, three injured..the leader in him kept track of the goblins he’d injured. He slashed again. CLANK! More goblin gibberish. Slash. Squeal. Better! Three down, three injured. Heading to finish off the injured, he suddenly heard an inhuman yell from behind him. Then shrieks and squeals and four goblins went sliding past him, landing in a heap next to the songstress, who screamed again, adding to the confusion. What the…? He dismounted quickly and rushed forward, sword swinging with deadly accuracy as he attacked the pile.

She suddenly felt deflated. The stiffness left quickly, leaving her drained and sagging into the ground. Two goblins lay dead, three feet in front of her. The rest apparently had either been knocked back or down. She didn’t care which. They were in the general vicinity of a more than adequate warrior, being dispatched to whatever deity they believed in and that was good enough for her. I really hate goblins. She shuddered, feeling immense empathy for the blacksmith’s attitude. She slowly reached into her pack to retrieve a vial, feeling older than Freideric. Her head snapped up quickly though when she heard loud shouts above Saere’s screaming.

Ewyn slashed again and again. His valiant efforts to defend the Lady were failing, and the backup from the Army was being slaughtered by hundreds of goblins. There was no cork to the proverbial bottomless wine cask.

Saere backed behind the squire as a pile of goblins slid into her with a flash of light. She added a shriek to the cacaphony around her.

A troup of knights came down and formed a ring around the Fellowship. Taros rounded up the wandering few and casted an arm towards the Mines, yelling 'Entrance is clear! Charge, my nobles!' He helped recovering Silver to his feet and half sprinted, half dragged him towards the Mines.

Ewyn was the first to step into the dead silence of the ominous, widened hole. The White Knights went ahead and surrounded a troll who was guarding the entrance, latent, waiting for them. They slaughtered it with a quick thrust of bitter lances, and the Fellowship surged into the corridors of the enormous 'Temple of Dark'.

Ewyn checked the eerie casually sketched map he had pilfered from the burned wreckage of the formerly beautiful House Lindir. The battered shell of the mining House contained this in a study room, and Ewyn had taken it before the Quest.

Saere shrank away from the skulls and bones adorning the walls. They pointed the way towards the new tunnels that lead deeper and deeper into the dark caves, and possibly towards what they seek.

Matty

IC Matty:

After the incident with the monstrous cave troll, Matthew was shaken up for a little while, especially after losing his new axe, and bending his katana.

With two daggers drawn, Matthew had killed a good half dozen goblins, who also appeared to be a little confused and frightened. Must be all of the knights, Matthew thought. Soon enough, Matthew found himself in the midst of a few more goblins, when one of the army's horsemen rode up to him, and decapitated a few of the surrounding goblins. Then the horsemen grabbed for Matthew's arm, and pulled him up onto the horse. "We must get you to the entrance," the horsemen shouted over the roars of battle.

Hanging onto the horsemen's back, Matthew's head began to clear. We must get into the mine. We must avenge Marius! Just as the horsemen rode closer to the entrance, Matthew saw yet another half-dozen goblins charging towards Sister Ileni and Saere, but a second horsemen charged towards Saere. Matthew hopped off the horse, thinking to go after the three goblins that charged Ileni, but upon seeing her flat out fearless grin, he slowly retreated. If Ileni can pull off another dark spell, those goblins will never see it coming...

They didn't.

A mighty blast of wind flew from Ileni's hands, which were held above her head, and slammed into the three goblins, sending them flying over by Saere. The goblins looked as if they had each been hit by Shakta's own maul. I'd bet 50 coins they're all dead, too.

Once again, the knights cleared a path into the mine for the travellers, and this time, they made it in.

This looks more like a place to find armies of the undead, not armies of goblins, with all of those skulls on the walls...

Orceeeeeeeeeeey B!!!!!!!!

IC Orc Boss:

They should be dead now. I had nearly every creature that resides within these mines out fighting! Now, a goblin that looked as if he were to collapse came limping into the throne room. After letting out a soft "Kuurrrpplluunnnk" the weary goblin collapsed onto the cave floor, and softly muttered, "Tall...people...coming..."

The orc's eyes bulged and glowed bright yellow and bulged, opening wider.

WHAT?!

How could they have lived? How? HOW? HOW?!

NPC: Sklanmurkd, the slimey one

Slinking down, deeper into the mines, down hidden corridors that none knew, Sklanmurkd heard the echoing roar from the throne room. Muffled by rock, it sounded like distant thunder. “Sklkicklicklick.” He grinned, yellow teeth gleaming. “Orc Boss all wind. Orc Boss lose. Sklanmurkd win.” He felt smarter than the Orc Boss. Sklanmurkd know what here. Orc Boss not know. He chortled. It was getting darker now, and hard to see. His scrawny hand closed around the pouch at his waist. He stopped in a low tunnel and pulled the pouch open. His green fingers closed around the stone chip. It hurt to hold it, and little sparks flew up and stung his arms, but it pulsed and glowed and shed enough light for him to see a few feet around him. The tunnel shrank and he crouched. Sklanmurkd get rid of tall people. Sklanmurkd know how. He grinned at the glowing stone chip and held it higher. Sklanmurkd be new Orc Boss! He continued to laugh as he headed even deeper into the mine.
