Ileni crawled tiredly up the stairs to her assigned cabin, glad to be done with the work in the galley and looking forward to a peaceful, and hopefully restful, night's sleep. Staff in hand, she continued her stumble down the hallway, and found her door ajar with the black-haired youth once again, blade drawn at some other female's throat, presumably her cabin-mate.Apparently I did NOT misread the earlier situation flitted through her mind with satisfaction. Enough is enough from this one! She swung her blackoak staff clumsily, more surprised than the red-haired beauty, when it actually connected with a resounding THWACK across the back of the young thief's head!

Matthew felt a large heavy object connect with the back of his head, and can recall falling onto the floor, and then the world went black.

H'Dero became restless. Pacing in his cabin, he suddenly heard shuffling nearby. He sighed, grabbed his ever-so-precious bag of swords, and swiftly moved out of the cabin. He saw an open cabin door. Please don't tell me I'm going to find a thief in there he thought to himself with a touch of self-pity. He walked forward and poked his head in the door. Immediately pulling out his dagger, he saw a robed figure standing next to a sprawled out body with a woman in the background. H'Dero stormed inside, poised with his dagger.

Saere-ly Earenda's View

Saere's throat had a tiny nick in it, and she felt blood trickling down her shirt. She grabbed a cloth and pressed it to the small cut. Moments later, it stopped bleeding. She looked at the youth laying on the floor, then at Ileni. The moment caught up with her and she collapsed on the bed.

Sigh Ileni leaned over the bed to better heal the fallen songstress. Placing her hands, the way the priests had taught her, she quickly healed the tiny nick in her neck, adding extra energy to ensure the throat, and voice, would not be affected. She noted dispassionately that the hair spread on the pillows looked like fallen blood. Checking to make sure her cabin-mate was not suffering from anything more than a faint, she turned her attention back to the other person crowding into the small room.

H'Dero was ready to strike. He quickly threw back his arm as the robed figure turned to be a woman. H'Dero let out a frustrated sigh. "What is going on in here?" He looked up at his dagger. The last beams of sunlight shining through the cramped window gleamed upon the ruby. He sighed again and sheathed his dagger, walking over to the fallen lady to help her up.

Dazed and confused, only for a second or two, Matthew slowly got to his knees. Once he remebered the situation, he lunged for his katana. That damned cleric hit me hard, but not hard enough...

Saere struggled awake. What in Phen's name is going on? she thought, a confusion of thoughts jumbling in the back of her mind. Ileni stood above her, and one of the men was helping her up. Then the incident came flooding back and she reached for her throat. The cut was gone. She looked questioningly at Ileni...

Her eyes open in a scream, but no audible noise issuing from her throat, Saere pointed behind Ileni in a desperate attempt to warn her.

H'Dero instantly recognized the man with the newly drawn sword to be his server at the galley. He let out a cry. He pulled back his belt, and grabbed the handle of his diamond edged sword. With one quick movement, his sword was drawn. He whipped his bag of swords down next to the ladies. He acquired his most professional battle stance.

Matthew tossed his dagger into his left hand, while pulling out three small knives (no larger than modern day bullets) with his right. He crouched low, and grinned.

Ileni made her way as quickly as could, onto the bed with her cabin-mate, not in fear for her own safety, but thinking she wanted to shield the woman she had just healed. She looked over her shoulder at the two men about to do battle.

H'Dero lunged himself at the man. He layed a sharp kick to his back and he sprawled out on the floor, with several weapons clanking out of his hands.

Scrambling for the closest weapon he had, which turned out to be one of the knives, matthew slid under the muscular man's legs, and flung the knife out. It whizzed, barely inches, past the mans head.

...Matthew seized the opportunity. If hes blindly charging, i can jump him... Matthew waited the heartbeats for the man to close within punching distance. Jumping, Matthew put his hands together, spread his legs apart, and slammed down with all his might onto the larger mans back. Unforunantly, Matthew wasn't quick enough. The man's head slammed into matthew's groin, which caused matthew to spin in midair, crashing onto the ground, in monstrous pain.

H'Dero made contact. Matthew flew back a few feet and toppled over. H'Dero fell from this and landed flat on his head. The two men lay groaning on the ground.

Saere screeched in terror as the knife that missed H'Dero swooped past her head. The two men grappled for a bit, and then the thief launched himself in the air. A confusion of limbs followed and the two men were suddenly laid out on the ground, moaning in pain. Saere sat still in shock, hiding behind Ileni.

Phen give me patience! I think half the passangers on this boat want to kill each other She laid a reassuring hand on the other woman's shoulder and slid off the bed to see what she could do to salvage the wreck of humans on the floor. As she stepped over, she saw a foot enter through the door....

Mutoh smiled to himself as he pictured the girl in his mind again. Yes, he couldn't wait to hear her voice again. He walked along the corridor to the cabin she shared with the cook's helper. Sounds of struggle were heard and he rushed in. A sword carved a big chunk of wood out of the door, just above Mutoh's head. "HELP!" he shouted. Hurrying footsteps on the deck was heard.

A sailor burst into the room and nearly got his head chopped off. Saere could hear him shouting for help, and thumps were heard as more sailors hurried below decks. Saere crouched in frozen shock behind Ileni, who resolutely stood her guard over her.

Ileni's eyebrows rose. What are these people doing in here? Using her best take-charge voice (learned while haggling with merchants) she instructed the first sailor through the door to remove the rest of the crew back to the deck. "And send word to the captain, would you please, that we have need of his wisdom."whatever that may be on this Phen-forsaken ship.

After watching the sailor scoot out the door, she made her way back to the fallen two on the floor, gingerly sorting limbs and separating the two men.

Once again she started to apply the healing spells the priests had forced her to practice. These took longer than normal, for the men were apparently far more injured than they first appeared.

Saere was left on the bed during the hustle and bustle that took place thereafter. She was slightly dazed, as her adrenaline rush slowed and clogged her mind.

H'Dero felt the warmth of the heal all around him. He stood up, groggy. "Thank you..." he mumbled softly. He picked up his sword and sheathed it. He let out a breath of relief when he snatched the bag of swords from under the bed... The man he fought got up as well. H'Dero gave him a cold stare...

By Phen's robe, that HURT! Matthew thought as he struggled to get up. He noticed that the other man got up as well. Matthew inwardly winced as pain came flooding into his brain. Tenderly getting up, he glared at the muscular man.

Ileni noticed both men were coming around. Disgusted at the wary glances they gave each other, certain they were about to begin fighting again, she turned to the dazed woman on the bed and inquired gently, "should we leave dear?" Assuming she really wanted to go, Ileni, helped her out of bed and across the floor, guiding her gently around the snorting men, casting an intent stare of her own, until she made it out the door with her charge.

The deck was alive with activity. Delkin Port was in sight. Sailors scrambled once again with lines and sails and crates.

Ileni looked around gratefully, glad she and the woman she was now with were soon to disembark. She steered her new friend over to a quiet spot, along the railing and watched happily as the dock grew closer, lines were cast and the few sailors nimbly crawled over to secure them. I'm ready to get off this ship, she thought and then wondered about the woman's belongings. maybe I can find someone to bring them up for us. I don't want to go back down there again for another encounter. Wonder if they've killed each other yet. Thinking it was no concern of hers, she prepared to move towards the opening, now visible with the lowered plank.
