Cool

I was wondering (since you may have a chance of publishing TRPG2) if you are keeping the old release schedule (once every couple of days) or if you would be switch over to a BETA 1, 2, 3 CS-style of releasing. In which the mod is developed and released, then the next phase of development starts in which there is vigorous testing by beta testers until it is polished for the next release (most likely a month or more later) and then a release is made to the public that is particularly shiney and has that new-car smell?

You can just respond with a simple A or B (or C if your doing something different)

A) Release every few days with new additions

B) Have a dedicated beta-tester team that tests until it is polished and presentable until the next release in a month or so.

Ji doesn't update every so couple days. Between January and Febuary, there was no update.

He updates when it is needed. Your suggestion has many flaws that would cause this new method of updating to be impractical.

If the release was like this, what happens if 9 bugs are found in the course of the month interval? Are the bugs just left to be exploited and abused?

he can always quik-patch bugs like them... and that team of beta-testers, they are supposed to find the highly exploitable bugs :P

fenix, only in a perfect world will the beta testers find all the bugs.

CS is not an RPG and is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY less complicated that TRPG1 for that matter. Why do you think EQ etc have auto-updaters when you launch the game? Doesn't that tell you something?

So Gib, the answer is A

Thanks JI. I thought you'd say that, but yah never know. The balancing of the weapons, spells, classes, and everything is obviously more complicted, forget about all the other features that would need to be play-tested.

ALSO, I'm glad someone can read... as I no-where in my post said "READ MAI KOOL IDEA JI!!! CHEK IT OuT!!"

I gave him 3 options, A, B, and C. So the fact that someone is saying the "suggestion" that I made sucks is kind of odd to me, considering I didn't make a suggestion... Its called a question.

Hence: "JI, What Will The Release Interval Be?"

Oh, and SadFriend... all throughout RPG's history he has done many updates through-out just a few days. From IronCity all the way through the latest version of RPGMap1 (I know he started RPGMap5, but JI slowed down on the releases then) he was known to do that (which isn't a bad thing), and maybe if you just started playing recently you wouldn't know that. The reason why JI might only update every now and then might be because TRPG is at the end of its development...
